Learning Disability Services

" EVERYONE HAS A PART TO PLAY "

Learning disability services in Sheffield have always been an integral part of what we do here at Burton Street. Our ethos is to embrace the things people can do, rather than focusing on what they can’t. All sessions are designed to help develop self-confidence, self expression, and communication. We explore new sensory activities, encourage discussion and expression of feelings and thoughts, and enable people to reach their own personal goals. All our sessions are built with the NHS 5 Pillars to Wellbeing in mind, for more information on our pillars, see our blog How Burton Street Unlocks Independence: Our Four Pillars.

To enable learning and personal growth through the use of creative activities in a safe, supported and designed environment to promote

communication, self confidence and self expression.

We embrace and celebrate difference within the staff team and our clients, we celebrate every attempt at self expression, and we think creatively.

Our staff are among the most experienced, innovative, and professional support workers in the industry. Every member of our team receives regular, high quality training, and we have a culture of constant progression and professional development. Almost 250 clients from across Sheffield attend Burton Street on a weekly basis.
